Hi forum,
Attempted to EGR delete on a fiat ducato today. Successfully read and write to ecu ( after some headaches with kess keep spiting out check sum error ?)
My question and issue is - after saving the read file and then processing through ADS egr , theb writing back to ecu the vehicle would not start.
In fact, it wouldn't start also during the write process to ecu ( can only assume that's why it also would not start after writing was complete)
There was no error messages and it stated that the write was complete successfully.
After some back and forth the vehicle got the ori map back on and would start and run as it did before my day started - however... .im still in need of completing the task.
Any advise, tips or explanations on why the ADS didn't map out the egr correctly/vehicle would not start?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance! It sounds like you didn't calculate the checksum as it was advising you to do.
And if I understand what you posted correctly, you are lucky that it hasn't corrupted the ecu if you tried starting the engine during programming.

Thanks for the reply.
I may have confused things with the checksum comment - it was an error from kess when reading.
The error was dll issue that i resolved. After fixing this kess was working fine. I don't believe I was advised about calculating the check sum and understand that kess would do so before writing to ecu?
Again I think I may have been misunderstood - starting the engine was part of the write process and was advised by kess to do so then select ok to continue, along with dozens of dash off and dash on and depress the clutch
I'm thankful nothing went wrong, and the vehicle is again working fine with the ori file , my request for help is with deleting the egr from the ori file to write back to ecu

I presume that the modified file will need checksum doing before writing to enable the engine to start, but I'm not sure about the egr deleting as I haven't done any .
is the system covered under Lsuite to see if it thinks the checksum is correct? otherwise I believe Winols can be used to do the checksum too (both of which are available on here to download)
